Adjuncts very rarely convert to tenure track faculty. These are two very different animals, and the reason that one is one or the other pretty much determines it will stay that way. So there is no issue of them having to "work harder, publish more", because that is not what adjuncts do. And especially, they do NOT have to get grant money, which is the rate limiting step for most tenure track faculty. |
