Have you plotted them on a graph to see if the trend is more or less a straight line or if there are some steep dropoff areas? Also, how do you measure the distance for each putt? Pace it off? Eyeball?

Pace it off? > Eyeball? > If you look at the graph it is (roughly speaking) two different slopes. One for putts of 3' to 15-20', and another for the longer putts. I eyeball everything inside 10 feet. I pace off the longer putts starting typically 3 paces from the pin (and will often eyeball a starting point not in a straight line with the cup to avoid walking on some else's line). I am happy with whatever my 'eyeball' accuracy is and, as I said, the nearest 3' is fine for the longer putts. There are times when for whatever reason it isn't convenient to 'pace it off'. As the 'Geico Ed Too Tall Jones ad' says, I just guestimate on those - no big deal. I would probably do this even without my stats as I ALWAYS practice knowing the yardage to my target and prefer to 'play as I practice'. dave

It tells little about putting. That really is the issue that prompted me to create my own putting table. I wanted to know how good I was putting - not how good I was chipping/approaching/etc. dave |
