For those that missed it, Tom said that the "old girl deserves a few
balls now and then." Also a thought back to his early victory at the
course. There was no anger involved.

Moderation is not intended to be - nor should it be - to filter out
opinions with which any poster or group(s) of posters disagree... not on
any forum I've ever been on as a poster/moderator. Moderation is
generally there for a degree of civility, not to create an echo chamber.

Good to know you're recovered.
Welcome back, although the place isn't worth much now.

Yes it has. Lots of disguised scamming and pushing one's applecart
has always been the hallmark of this ng. Of course, some did it more
or less openly, others with the help of their followers or alter egos
and fake discussions. The whole thing went bad when some started to
point out ALL scam artists around, not just the ones against the
status quo.

> Most of those events are still going, they've just evolved away from RSG.

Thank the Gods for that! About time this place stopped being a club
magazine.
Want to fom a club? Do it outside of the Usenet.

Remember the bitching about swing methods and teachings? The constant
bickering between the scammers of various systems? The constant
chasing of spammers by their opposing scam artists? The review
threads totally irrelevant to non-US residents? (yes, it is an I-N-T-E-
R-N-A-T-I-O-N-A-L newsgroup, not just the south-east US...)
Thanks heavens, no more!

You and others here have *always* been in the mailing lists, nothing
new.
In fact, I do recall that was one of the contentious points here?

Would be nice if it was just that, at least it'd be mildly funny...

Unfortunately these spoilers are all over Usenet. If you look at the
headers of e.g. 'Nomen Nescio' you'll see that they're using a
remailer (www.dizum.com)

[11] Q: What is your policy on off-topic postings?

A: We do not have a policy against off-topic postings and we rely
on users to operate in a way that they feel is appropriate for Usenet
and/or the groups they are participating in.

Bullseye.

(Technically, that's a golf post, since Corey Pavin was putting with a
Bullseye in Hartford last week.)
