Weeds on greens?
I've never seen weeds on greens, even on the cheapest of golf courses. So does that mean that the grass used for greens repels weeds or is it because of the skills of green-keepers? The reason I ask, is because I would like to make part of my lawn suitable for putting on. Would overseeding with green-type see... 29 Apr 2010 22:38
shot of the day.
My friend calls me up at eight this morning. It's wicked cold and windy but he tells me he just got off work and he wants to go golfing. I had many great shots including one where i was 30 yrds off the green, and i used a lob wedge to put it six inches from the hole. But the one that stands out was on the seve... 25 Apr 2010 20:09

Shot of the day
For today's shot of the day, i was on a 390 yd. double dog leg par 5. A very interesting hole I tell you. My first shot was right down the center, but just a little too far. My second shot was across the crik, again just a little too far and almost out of bounds. For my next shot I was 75 yrds. from the green an... 16 Apr 2010 19:37

Word of the day - paraprosdokian
I don't like "word of the day" because they are usually interesting looking words with boring meanings ... but here is one that is cool. A paraprosdokian is a figure of speech in which the latter part of a sentence or phrase is surprising or unexpected in a way that causes the reader or listener to reframe or r... 16 Apr 2010 16:17

The danger of the "New Tiger"
Our society is very quick to forgive and move on. When a public figure screws the pooch (or gets caught screwing a pooch), all they really have to do is be genuinely sorry and beg for forgiveness. Our society in general does forgive, even seems eager to forgive. Now we have Tiger. He screwed up. He had his... 21 Apr 2010 00:09
