Substitute for Winn W7 (oversize) grips?
Local golf store told me Winn does not make the W7 (oversize) grip any more. Too many complaints about grips not lasting long enough. Is this true? I will continue to get W7 on the internet as long as I can, but what other grip would be closest to the W7? Thanks. Don ... 14 Jul 2008 15:47
Difference between Callaway/Fujikura Ladies & Senior Flex
In an FT-i Callaway driver, what would be the difference between a Fujikura Sakura ladies flex and a Fujikura Speeder 586 senior flex? I want the senior flex in the high-loft driver (neutral bias) and can't find it but I can find the ladies. Would it be about the same? Thanks. Ed ... 15 Jul 2008 17:30
RSG Phoenix Report
I've been meaning to post a short report, but having a hard time to fit it in among all the sneaker, watch and jersey ads. It was just two of us for last Saturday's RSG Phoenix mini meetup at the TPC Scottsdale Champions course. A last minute business trip took John out of the lineup. I met up with Scott Newel... 8 Apr 2008 13:24
What does mdf mean in PGA tournament standings?
I was looking at the Sony to see how Tommy Gainey is doing, and I see he finished even, and is labeled as MDF, above the cut line. But, if I'm not mistaken, I don't see him with a Sat tee time... What does that mean? ... 14 Jan 2008 10:24
Lead Wrist Supination, trapping the ball
Hogan says in "5 Lessons" that the golf downswing must include, 1. Starting down with hips, 2. the downswing is one continuous movement from top to finish, and 3. that the lead wrist is supinated before impact, the knuckles of that hand are facing down just before impact and the hands lead the clubhead. Hogan ... 6 Dec 2007 01:07
Baker is right!
You know, come to think of it, Baker is right when he says I am a hypocrit. The things he says are "facts" about Larry, I see as "facts" about Dalecki, andf I have responded to Dalecki as Baker responds to Larry. Of course Larry doesn't get together some group of friends and decide to "go after" people (like me!) w... 9 Dec 2007 03:17
Solitude
It was in the 70's today. I didn't expect that the course would be playable...weekend, nice day, usually brings out the worst golfers. But at about 3Pm it wasn't too bad. One really abusive slowsome (5some), but other than that, easy cruising. Played 1-4, caught the 5some, then 8, 2-6 for 10 holes. I walked 8, 2-6 ... 9 Dec 2007 03:17
Slicing my 4 iron
I tend to avoid hitting my lower irons as I hit a slice more times than not. When I do hit the lower irons I aim left to compensate. I was wondering why I slice only the low irons (3-4). I'm thinking I need to place the ball more forward in my stance so I hit it later in my swing. If I'm slicing all my irons I know... 12 Nov 2007 12:42
Halimony Sutton wins Payne Stewart Award
http://uk.reuters.com/article/golfNews/idUKN1224947120070912 A verrrrrrry popular win, I'm sure. I'd all but forgotten about old Slingblade after his embarassing captaincy and unwillingness to accept any blame for the daily drubbings; and complete willingness to call out Phil and other players in the interview r... 16 Sep 2007 18:24
