Business grad from Mississippi College. As a result, he has a very
successful business, and unlike say deadwood faculty at major
universities, he doesn't sit around and expect people to pay him for
simply drawing breath, he actually goes out and earns a living by
providing a real service to people...no attributing some theoretical
values of education and research onto himself while he does
nothing...if he did nothing he would earn nothing! Too bad education
and research isn't more like business...we would educate more
effectively and discover more!

Of course, if he were British, he would be a laborer or something like
that. He would not have scored well on aptitude tests when he was a
kid and would have never gone to college at all.

Whoa Rob. You opened a door that you probably didn't realize.
"Deadwood faculty at major universities"? Then we should expect you
to be aware of deadwood faculty at little colleges, like in
Mississippi. Maybe in biology? Are you tenured yet?

So you're claiming -- and let's all just take a moment to truly
appreciate the idiocy expressed here -- you're claiming that your friend
is a valuable person because he runs a successful business which is a
result of his getting an education, but then -- in the very same
paragraph, no less! -- you denigrate someone who provides education to
others as providing no real service.

Incredible.

Everyone pays in with payroll deductions, everyone benefits. Those who
can't pay in have it provided. It's way cheaper that way.

Let's all pause for a moment while he adjusts that almighty chip on his
shoulder.
