The harder I swing with my driver, the straighter and farther it goes. When I try to "swing easy", I end up manipulating the club instead of just swinging it.
From: Hero on 19 Jul 2006 08:44 Larry - that's prob due to the fact that your 100% is about 70% of normal golfers. I try to believe I swing approx 70-80%.. swinging faster ONLY translates into long bombs if you hit the center of the clubface. My 75% swing gets me 270+ which is more that fine since I hit very long irons. Your drives are the most important part of the game.. learn to het the fairways & watch your game improve exponentially. All IMO -Hero Larry Bud wrote: > rich wrote: > > How many times have we all been told to "swing easy"..... From: fiveiron on 19 Jul 2006 08:38 The harder I swing with my driver, the straighter and farther it goes. When I try to "swing easy", I end up manipulating the club instead of just swinging it. larry bud === 10-4, while maintaining one's balance. If decelerating comes into play, resuming can affect the swing plane. a smooth tempo is the key, physically, easy does it, mentality. >mho >v fe >w o o d s y t h e o w l s e z, >g i v e a h o o t ! d o n 't p o l l u t e......

OK, here is a question: when you swing harder (and straighter, and farther), does this extra strength come from the left side or the right side? F

[snip] Had a less than stellar tee shot. Was too far to try to reach for the green, especially out of the rough, into the wind. Screw it, I'll lay up 60 yards short of the pin. I take out the 5 wood, swing really easy, and launch one well onto the green. Now if I could just find a way to be pissed off and try to lay up 60 yards short, into the wind, and swing easy EVERY TIME....... |
