This is a good simple adjunct to what Alan laid out more
geometrically.

To give a differing visual, watch the way Pete Sampras used to hit a
topspin forehand in tennis. Sure it was exagerated due to clubhead v.
raquet speed, but, the dynamics are similar. I'll often visualize
that if I have to force a draw from a mid-iron from behind a
(frequently found) obsticle like a tree limb.
