Frank, generally your political posts are reasonably thought out, but
this is beneath you. Yes, this was an accident, but caused by a greed
factor. Your hyperbole is misguided.

Bobby,

The point is that many are jumping to conclusions. I have stated over and
over and over and over (it will be ignored again) that in the end, that
point of view may be correct. But evidence that it is true as of right now
is flimsy at best.

The problem is that a great many people give circumstantial evidence the
credence of actual evidence when it aligns with their personal views. BP
employees claim BP cuts corners to save money? Good enough for me! That is
what I think anyway, big oil is evil. Employees of a company, after all,
are always the best source for determining what a company does and why.

"Industry experts" claim the same thing? Good enough for me. Industry
experts cite past instances where a company has cut corners? Great. Tell
me what happened in this particular case exactly. Oh, they don't know yet?
Industry experts not involved at all are always the best source for
determining what a company does and why.

Congressmen and Senators in cycle say that BP cut corners to save money?
Good enough for me. Politicians are always the best source for determining
what a company does and why.

There is a reason circumstantial evidence is called circumstantial. It is
not actual evidence. Speculation is not evidence. Political posturing is
not evidence.

Tell me what exactly actually happened here or stop wasting my time.

BP in the end will probably get what they deserve. I believe that they
probably were negligent and I think they probably did skirt regulations and
pay off overseers. My belief however is not grounds for conviction, nor are
anyone else's. Should it be proven, they should be sued out of existence.
Next, the regulators tasked with overseeing them should face the music.
Then the politicians appointing the regulators.

I know I am in the vast minority suggesting that actual facts about what
happened be relied upon for reaching conclusions, but so be it.

Frank

I only saw what I perceive as hyperbole in some areas.

It came across as wider to me.

IMO one has to be more pointed than vague in forums such as this one,
for obvious reasons.

Do you have proof Bobby? Or, are you just making this up as you go
along? There has been no trial, there has been no legal judgement. Hell,
there hasn't even been an investigation.
