Illegal alien or not, this is against the law.

You are an employer and, as such, are required to report the money you
pay her to the IRS. She, obviously is required to report the income
she gets from working for you. The IRS frowns on people getting money
without their knowing it.

I wont even mention your liability if she's injured in your house. If
you were to do this "above board" she would be covered by workman's
comp.

If you're ever audited by the IRS, it could come up.

Not the only politician who was tripped up for having people work off
the books.

It doesn't really matter. If you're paying an individual or a
contractor the payments must be reported to the IRS. It's a lot less
complicated hiring someone who qualifies as an independent contractor
but the IRS still wants to know about it.

You're quite wrong.

You should read the appropriate IRS pamphlet on the subject: I have.

No, it's not.

Lots of independent contractors come to do work of various kinds at
people's homes. They come, they do the work, they get paid, they leave.

You simply don't know that that is true.
