It was in the 70's today. I didn't expect that the course would be
playable...weekend, nice day, usually brings out the worst golfers.
But at about 3Pm it wasn't too bad. One really abusive slowsome
(5some), but other than that, easy cruising. Played 1-4, caught the
5some, then 8, 2-6 for 10 holes. I walked 8, 2-6 in the time it took
the 5some, in carts of course, to play 5-7..in fact they were walking
off the 7th green as I got to the putting green as I was leaving the
course having played 6. As I drove off, a 7some finished 18, and there
was a lineup behind them...a regular group of seniors I see there that
NEVER let anyone play though. I felt sorry for the other people who
had to suffer through the fact that this group was on the course.

In any event, I started to think about how much I enjoyed the solitude
of playing golf as a single. Just enjoy walking down the fairways
playing golf; nothing else to deal with. Just relax and enjoy for it's
own sake.

Hopefully it will be in the 50's tomorrow and I can get in 18 or so
holes...get ready for monday when every other student in my classes is
going to want to ask questions about upcomming finals, and thesis
students are going to want to go over their thesis...and I have half a
dozen applications to approve (or not)..& etc.

The never let anyone play through? So why are they allowed to use the
course in the first place? Don´t you have any manners over there? F

It's a pretty common thing in the US. These guys are a regular group of
seniors who play at this course. I guess they think they have greater right
to the course than anyone else. I wonder what would happen if someone got in
front of them and played annoyingly slower than them?

This is where the American gun law comes in handy, I guess. F

Played as a single on a course up in Nashville, and I had two groups
of four ignore me for several holes, before I had to finally go up and
ask them if I could please go through....
