Then there's the question; how many oil leaks at 5,000 feet of water
has BP stopped.
Answer; the same as Cameron.

As I tell my kids, a lot of things in life will make sense if you
remember that half of the people in the world are below average
intelligence.

What the oil spill will do is make it apparent how poorly the
government is at getting anything done. It's not Obama's fault, but
he's in charge so now he gets the blame. It comes with the job.

If you add up all the contributions from all the other oil and oil
related companies to Obama and all the other politicians then it does
become compelling.

I just can't imagine anyone thinking that the gov't could have done
anything about this that they didn't do.

Failure of federal regulatory agencies to properly supervise BP's
operations. This is especially true considering BP's previous safety
violations. The federal regulators were asleep at the switch.

Failure to comprehend the seriousness of the situation leading to slow
and inadequate response with cleanup effort.

Things like this from ABC News:

"Jindal is still waiting for the federal government to provide
millions of feet in boom and to approve an emergency permit for a
state plan to dredge and build new barrier islands to keep the oil
from reaching the marshes and wetlands.

Jindal is so desperate for the islands, he's said he'll build them
even if it sends him to jail.

"We've been frustrated with the disjointed effort to date that has too
often meant too little, too late for the oil hitting our coast,"
Jindal said."

The bottom line is that people can see every night on TV that what the
government is doing isn't working. This will go on and on for
months.
