Read the story. He led....then and now.

Not to knock McCain specifically, but to me the notion of bravery is not
meaningful if you have no control over what is happening to you. In
those situations if something bad happens you just try to get through
it.

Are cancer patients brave? Hard to say. What about firemen who choose to
rush into burning homes to rescue people? Yes, absolutely. What about
William's father who chose to be in the line of fire? Yes again.

You see the distinction?

He had choices on how he conducted himself in torture and intense
interrogation. There were some who caved and received better treatment.
McCain wasn't one of them. He also had the choice to go home early. Also,
he had the choice of serving in the military. McCain volunteered....he was
not drafted.

Bravery manifests itself in many ways. Regardless, I'd rather be on a
destroyer, the hunter, than be in a N.V. POW camp.

Billy is ignorant of the facts, diverting attn. with an apples vs. oranges
comparison between his father and McCain.

How did this reply to John B. get threaded as a response to my
