Plenty of American golfers would list the US Open first........I know
Nicklaus did....and I suspect Woods does as well.


I would rank them this way.

US Open
British Open
Masters
PGA


Its funny how the British seems to have passed it among some
fans....for most of the last 70 years its not been close.



The US Open and the other "Open" are true championships of golf...they
will always be a step above the other two majors.

if I am not mistaken the world golf ranking puts highest points on the
US open, so that has to be the most prestigious
then the masters
PGA
british open

even though the masters has lost some of it's appeal with all the
changes they did to the course of recent... it's almost they are
trying to make it a mini US pen
