You sure don't expend much effort to explain your point so why wouldn't most
people miss it? Why not mention that taxes are only one way to pay for
things like roads? User fees are a much better system for many reasons not
the least of which requires those who use the product to fund it.

Saying "I oppose any and all taxes" is just as persuasive as someone saying
"I am in favor of any and all taxes".

How would you care to pay for the military for example? Defense after all
is an actual legitimate function of our government and requires funding.

A deficit is a deferred tax and Obama is going to put deferred
taxation to an unheard of level.

I wonder what would happen if governments stopped controlling money.
We can't use gold all the time in the age of Pay Pal. I guess we
would be using letters of credit from Big Business.

I've heard people say that the only legitimate use of government is
for the military. I haven't heard them propose we tear down our
prisons though.

As have just about every administration. Which is the last
Republican administration that didn't do this?

There would be competing forms of currency not controlled by a central
authority and we would be better off. Hell we don't need to even go that
far, just use a currency that they can't print more of at any time like a
gold standard as you mentioned or a standard tied to any other commodity
(silver, wheat, crude oil) or multiple commodities.

Government has other legitimate functions. Administering a justice system
for example is a pretty important one. Basically government exists to
protect the liberty of the citizen. We get in trouble when we use it for
other ends.

It is a far cry from where we are today where government is simply the
mechanism to dish out whatever goodies people want regardless of the cost.
