It is the local tradition, 'sub-humans' enjoying themselves instead of
bitching on rsg.

Curling would be nothing without the brooms.

I don't know about America. But if you want to include Europe, then
keep in mind that many countries here have *dozens* of soccer channels
(some channel can't even show footage of the games, they just talk for
hours *about* the matches aired somewhere else), and no golf channel
at all.
Heck, here (Italy) we don't even get coverage of the PGA tour at all
(15 minutes of "wednesday special" on Eurosport and that's it), and
you know what? No one cares.
You can't really even compare the two sports here (golfers are roughly
80,000 against a population of 60 millions, so more or less 0,1%), and
in most European countries (except for the UK I think, but I don't not
know exactly how big golf is there).

It helps if you understand the subtleties of the game.
I've never watched anything worse than major league baseball.

--------------------------------------------------------------
Baseball is great....if you have a DVR. I watch every Mariner loss in the
span of an hour.

Soccer....the only thing worse on TV is the PTL club.
