That is true, some of the best in the world (Annika) usually don't
take divots.

But I suspect that acquiring the ability to take a "proper" divot on
demand will improve my game, even if I subsequently choose not to.

I bet a new personal executive jet would drastically improve your game.
You could play Augusta in the AM, then zip up to Pebble Beach for
