Sure, "self-righteous" is what other people are. Righteous is what I
am. Big difference.

Jesus fought the Righteous, preferring to be good. Churches and
organizations find it much easier to be Righteous.

This isn't limited to the Religious Right, liberals have this disease
as well. For instance there is a war against obesity that doesn't do
any good, and makes lots of people miserable. For their own good.

We all have this disease to some extent. Those following Jesus'
example are better at fighting it.
