Just one quesion - ask your elected officials if
they have any reason for not giving the American
people, me for instance, the same health care
options as senators, representatives and federal
employees. Harry Reid stubled around and
couldn't answer. I bet John Bohner has the same
problem. If you are a veteran then nevermind,
apparently you already have an excellent program.

I said give me the same options ... can you read?
Feds have to pay for their insurance but the profit
of the insurance is restricted and they have a bunch
of options. I guess this issues isn't important to you.
Tell me why please.

dene is more than a little biased towards the insurance industry - hence the
knee jerk ---

posted while wondering how dene will defend Wellpoint / Anthem's 39% rate
increase in California & the 31% increase planned for at least some in
Indiana while reporting an almost 5 billion dollar profit in the last 3
months --- and admitting that their medical costs went up @ 8% last year --
must be they want the lobbying money they spent back -- real quick & with a
mega profit.

A couple of points which gray asphalt may not have considered. First is
that the federal government is a major employer which negotiates
agreements with insurance providers then underwrites a part of the cost
for its employees. Other major employers do the same thing - my
daughter in law works for a major corporation which offers its employees
a plan about equal to what the fed offers its employees. I worked for a
community college which had a very good plan - not as good as the feds
but a good plan.

Second, not all veterans have a good health care program. If you're
someone who spent four years on active duty then got out with no service
connected disability you aren't entitled to very much care at government
expense. Retirees, however, are a different story as are those with
service connected disabilities. I spent 21 years on active duty but my
only service connected disability is hearing loss created by being
around things which made a lot of noise before hearing protection was
ever thought of. I get my hearing aids from the VA and that's about it.
It's a benefit I appreciate because they're about $5K a pair on the
market.

Short advice - polish up your resume' and look for an employer with a
good program.
